My name is Bill Artwich and I am 26 years old and I am the owner and operator of
Ironland Adventures and Run 'N' Gun Guide Service. Both are located in Iron River Michigan in the beautiful Upper Peninsula
of Michigan. I was born and raised in Iron River and have lived here my whole life except for when I was in college
and two summers I spent in Alaska. I received a bachelors degree in Environmental Science (biological emphasis) from
Northern Michigan University located in Marquette Michigan. While I was there I also spent a lot of time studying fisheries
management, wildlife management, and entomology.
I grew
up on a small farm in southwest Iron County where I learned a lot about wildlife and how ecosystems work. I also developed
a fascination with waterfowl while I was a youngster and still till this day get a thrill out of just watching them.
I also started fishing and hunting with my father at a very young age and that is where I learned a lot. Hunting and fishing
hasn't just been a hobby my whole life, it has been a way of life.
Now
that I am done with school I was able to spent 90 plus days this year hunting and guiding in four states not to mention all
the days I spent fishing and outdoors working as a biologist. There are very few people that can compete with the time
I spend afield every year. I also have experience working in Alaska for a couple summers, one
as a salmon researcher and another summer as a deck boss on a commercial salmon boat. Currently I work part time for
a environmental consulting firm doing much of their field work for anything from water samples to mammal work.
In my free time away from hunting, and fishing I spend my time playing baseball and playing and coaching hockey and
training my dog Gander who accompanies me on almost every hunt that I do. A big part of a good hunt is watching a good
dog at work.
Now that you know a little bit about me I hope you enjoy looking around
the site and if you have any questions or want to chat feel free to send me an email or give me a call. Thank you very much
for your time.
